The Island Church is a non-denominat- ional
fellowship of believers
whose only commonality is their love for Jesus. Since 1985,
folks
have met at various cabins in the area where some Sundays we were
packed in as tight as late run humpies in a local stream. After
the
past 12 years of meeting on Isthmus Island it was decided to build a
permanent church building in Little Tutka Bay. The church is a
work in
progress since June of 2004.

Nobody gets left out in the worship at Little Tutka's Island
Church.
The kids worship belongs to all of us as we all join them in
their songs. This can be considered as aerobic exercise by some
and it
serves to remind us that worhip with our children is a big part of our,
and their, spiritual life.

There are three Sunday School classes for ages 3-teens. It is our
highest priority and commitment to make God's Word come alive to our
children through fun, interesting and relevant Bible lessons.
Puppet shows, skits, acting out Bible stories, sign language songs,
hand-crafts that go along with the lessons are a few of the teaching
methods we use, and our "classrooms" are usually the great outdoors.

After the service we usually share a potluck meal.
Most everybody stays for the potluck and it is a
truly a great time to be refreshed by friendships and encouraged by
fellow believers. It's usually pretty good too...if you like fish
or black bear. |
