In the rough and remote areas where many have pitched their tent in
this part of the world it is a real big job to get people tools and
materials to their building sites. If you have a lot of bulky or
awkward stuff to get to the beach we can be a big help to you.
This is a 32' landing craft that was built for small materials loads or
even moving small equipment such as skid steer loaders and small
excavators.

Most of the work in this part of the country requires the same method
that won the west. Many jobs require a number of strong
backs. Most folks just get a few friends to help unload but we do
our best to be available if necessary. So whatever the need you
have it can be accomplished with preparation. On the Homer side
of the charter the materials can be loaded with a crane.

This is a view from the wheelhouse of the Sojourner traveling to Port
Graham. The farthest we have traveled from Homer is Dogfish Bay
approximately 30 miles southwest of Homer. Trips to the head of
Kachemak bay have been undertaken for various reasons but the primary
reason is for the bicycling opportunities on a very good road with
campsites to Bradley Lake.

The Sojourner is a very comfortable boat for riding in equipped with
cushioned seats and lots of windows for great site seeing access.
The doors are large enough to accommodate wheelchairs and it is
equipped with a stove for heat. If you are moving sensitive
equipment that should be covered there is plenty of room to bring it
inside. Long materials can be run through the wheelhouse in a
pinch.

The boat
is a equipped with ramps that will easily roll four wheelers onto
most beaches and an opportunity to ride the road system
near Seldovia. Another
excellent benefit is that people with
disabilities can be easily placed on any beach with the right rough
ground power chairs or scooters. Potentially this opens the whole
world of Kayaking and camping opportunities to people with disabilities.
